about

Bright was going to be released as an EP around 4 songs long, but then I made more songs and it grew to album length. Oops! I made all the music in Bright between the release of Songs To Spacewalk To and the end of 2020. I think this album marks a real improvement in the quality of my music without giving up my style. I hope you enjoy the album!

If you think my music is worth money, you can buy the highest-quality downloads of the album or individual tracks through Bandcamp. All the revenue from Bright will be donated to Arbor Day Foundation, an international charity organization dedicated to planting and conserving trees. gizmote.bandcamp.com/album/bright

Hi, I'm Gizmote (he/they)! I like music so much that I started making some myself. I started making music in 2017 under the name GizmoDude8128 and have been releasing songs frequently ever since! My music tends to fit in genres such as electronic, EDM, ambient, and chiptune, but I've also done a bit of orchestral, techno, and synthwave. My two biggest releases are Songs To Spacewalk To and Bright, both released in 2020, the revenue from which is donated to the Arbor Day Foundation! My biggest inspirations include C418 and Waterflame, as well as dozens of other artists. As of 2021, I have released over 60 songs, and I plan on making more creative works as long as I can! Thanks for listening.

Here are the descriptions of each song, so you don't have to click the "info" tab:

Glint is one of those spontaneous songs of mine. One day, I suddenly found a song idea in my head and immediately went to GarageBand to compose it. The instruments I found to play it fit perfectly, and every musical decision flowed pretty naturally from my fingertips. The title, too, came naturally, in contrast to my struggle to find a fitting name for many of my other songs. I could use that kind of flow more often, ha ha!

I made The Torchbearer for the second round of the NewGrounds Underdogs’ Audio Contest. I happened to be (safely) on vacation at the time, so I only had two days at the end of August to make this. I wanted to try something new since I knew I wouldn't make it to the final round anyway, so this is what I came up with. Only later did I realize that it sounds suspiciously like Fade by Alan Walker: www.youtube.com/watch?v=bM7SZ5SBzyY

Traya is a region in a fictional universe I've created. At present, it's the location of the Trayan Desert, a vast expanse of white sand home to hardy creatures like kobolds and cacti. However, in prehistory, Traya was covered by an ocean rife with calciferous crustaceans, whose shells later gave the desert its white color. Does this track sound more like a vast ocean or a formidable desert? I can't decide. Join my Discord server to learn more about this universe: discord.gg/ZMsryev

For a long time, this song was named Liquid House because I don't know what genre it fits. I started off with just a chord progression and riffed on it until I got a live looped set, then arranged it until it was something I liked. I later changed the name to Liquid Light to fit the album theme; I really like the idea of a light-emitting liquid. I don't think we have that on Earth, but I could add one to my fantasy universe!

Package Patrick:I made this song way back in July 2020 for the GMTK Game Jam, then the largest online game jam ever! I worked again with my friend BenBonk, and though our game didn't turn out as good as we hoped, we still had fun. I still like the happy music loop I made for the game.

S.P.A.R.K. is a song I made for a game jam game of the same name. The acronym stands for Sentience Protocol for All Robot Kind, because the premise of the game is to defend a "faulty" circuit that caused your robot character to gain consciousness. You can play S.P.A.R.K. at cadenhenrich.itch.io/spark, but watch out, because it's a computer-intensive game and there are many bugs.
I'm actually surprised at how good of a song this is, considering I'd never seriously made synthwave before. The main rhythm is modeled after one of the most iconic synthwave songs: Resonance by HOME, in a sort of tribute to one of my favorite songs from that genre.

Burger Boogie: I organized a Secret Santa event on TWOW Central this December, in which participants make art anonymously for each other and receive art in return. My subject this year was hamburgerhelper#9211, and this song was my gift to him! Happy holidays, hamburger! I hope you enjoy this Burger Boogie, which I made in like 4 hours. Tritone Clones: My good friend QuantumWillow commissioned me to remix her track Tritone Clones. This song also serves as JenG's theme in SpaceTWOW, which Willow hosted and which I greatly enjoyed. This is the first time I've remixed a song, how did I do?

My Song 4: I recently looked through my old GarageBand project list. On GarageBand iOS, songs are by default named My Song X, X being the number of unnamed song files you have. (I have a ton of sketches I don't know how to turn into full songs, so I'm currently I'm on My Song 20.) My Song 4 was probably started in 2017 or 2018, and upon revisiting it, I found that it had a lot of potential. The result is one of my best songs, I think. I decided to keep its name as My Song 4 as a sort of tribute to the years when my only desire was to create, without regard to where my art might end up.
